Luke McGrane is a highly-qualified and experienced Osteopath. Osteopathy is a hands-on approach to healthcare. It works similarly to physiotherapy and chiropractic medicine using a combination of massage, adjustments (clicks and pops), strengthening and stretching exercises. It is considered a holistic practice taking lifestyle and stress into account.
Luke also holds qualifications in a multitude of relevant disciplines which can be employed for increased well-being such as a degree is Osteopathy and qualifications in Strength & Conditioning, Personal Training and Yoga Teaching. Luke has spent time working in a podiatry clinic and has extensive experience in the treatment of lower body injuries. He specialises and has a keen interest in spinal injuries and chronic pain induced from sedentary lifestyle and working at a desk. He uses a combination of hands-on techniques, stretches and strengthening exercises to get to the root of your problem. Luke prides himself on his unique goal of empowering the patient to learn the valuable skills of self analysis and exercise rehabilitation. Ultimately, for the patient to become the mechanic of their own body so they are no longer dependant or as dependant on a manual practitioner to manage or fix their injuries. This is achieved by learning to listen to their bodies, to identify activities that are aggravating an injury and to employ appropriate stretches, strength exercises and self massage techniques to bring optimal function back to their bodies. Deeply passionate about his work, Luke is an active sports-person, holding a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a regular indoor and outdoor rock-climber and hiker. Daily, he studies and trains in weightlifting and mobility and is always in pursuit of further education of a new course, book or qualification. Outside of work, Luke loves to spend his time with his wife and 2 dogs on walks. He also enjoys studying music through guitar and singing.
